Frida Kahlo
FRIDA KAHLO
Frida kahlo was a sufferer as she had suffered through all kinds of pain one can imagine to have altogether. At the beginning lets not talk about what and how her life of fame ended and rather talk about the beautiful painting she designed during her stay in this world.
Apart from her beautiful paintings was her beauty as she was gifted with unibrow which is now a style of fashion among many youth rejecting stereotypes and becoming the subject of today's 'Facial Hair Today'. One catchy thing about her appearance is that she always used to wear a tiara type of hairband full of different coloured flowers everyday.
Kahlo's interests in politics and arts led her to join the Mexican Communist Party where she met the man who she married who had same mexican ideals which closely matched her own and he also encouraged her artistic flourishing.
The Two Fridas (1939) ; It is a double self portrait and one of the most famous paintings representing the painter's inner anguish after her separation from rivera the place where she got married as the painter is seen wearing a contemporary european clothing donning the outfit she wore at her wedding in rivera.
THE TWO FRIDAS
Now going on the disabilities that she suffered during her years of living (47 years) were a plenty. Starting with the reason why she died is reported due to a pulmonary embolism but some others have theories which tell that she was suicidal days before her death as she mentioned in her diary that "I hope the exit is joyful - and I hope never to return - Frida".
She was a lso suffering from contracted polio at the age of 6 years when she did not have any treatment which in long run gave her physical damage mostly to her right leg. Theories also prove that she may have died due to overdose of pills.
One of the accidents she had to go through included a bus which she was riding on hit a trolley car which got kahlo severe internal injuries as a long metal rod tore through her body.
The message that this story provides us with is that even after life being so colourful with the colours of physical and mental disabilities she gave paintings and arts a new form of expression.
Her life also tells that art is not always a relaxation but can turn into a medium through wich opinions ideas and deepest feelings of one can be expressed.
